About The Collection
Ecclesia Domestica - Latin for "domestic church" - is a Portam Interiors collection that seeks to help restore what the world has distorted by inviting families and individuals to tithe a portion of their home to God through a home altar or chapel space, and from there - to properly order all of the other spaces of the home around this very spiritual heart.
Borne out of prayer and discernment, the Ecclesia Domestica collection is devoted to supporting individuals and families in building their "domestic church." Founded on the instruction of Luke 12:33 and the study of spaces within a monastery, this biblically based and monastic-inspired approach to design encourages detachment, cultivates order and fosters spiritual routine within the home. Initial offerings of the collection include educational workshops and interior design services with an online study series coming soon.
The Bridge Study (Coming in 2027)
The Bridge Study is a five week online study series as part of the Ecclesia Domestica collection. The study is intended to focus on a variety of spaces within a monastery and bridge them to complimentary spaces within the home. The goal of the Bridge Study is to inspire others to draw upon the wisdom, architecture, and daily habits of the monastery and apply them to the home.
